Happyfender is a family business from Vaxholm, founded in 2025 with the ambition to develop a new generation of fender covers.
The idea grew from the belief that a practical product can also be beautiful, personal and made with greater care for the sea and the climate.
Our fender covers are made from plant-based Yulex® natural rubber, a more sustainable alternative to traditional oil-based neoprene. Considered materials are combined with function, a good fit and clean Scandinavian design.

Frequently asked questions about fender covers
- What is a fender cover?
- A fender cover is a fabric sleeve pulled over your boat's fender to protect the fender, the hull and the dock. happyfender covers are made from Yulex® natural rubber with a recycled polyester surface, reducing wear while giving the boat a sharper look.
- Why should I use fender covers?
- Fender covers protect both gelcoat and dock and extend the life of the fender. They reduce squeaking against the hull, pick up dirt that would otherwise scratch the boat, and help the fender stay in place when the wind shifts at the dock.
- What is Yulex®?
- Yulex® is an FSC-certified natural rubber tapped from the Hevea tree, used as a fossil-free alternative to neoprene. It has roughly 85% lower CO₂ footprint than traditional neoprene and 357% elasticity, giving a better fit on more common fender models.
- How do I choose the right size?
- happyfender comes in two sizes: Small fits fenders 13-17 cm in diameter and Large fits fenders 18-22 cm in diameter. Thanks to the stretch material these two sizes cover most fenders for leisure boats of 6-10 m.
- How do I care for my fender covers?
- Rinse the covers in fresh water after the season and machine wash at 30 °C with a gentle detergent and no fabric softener when needed. Dry flat — avoid tumble drying and long exposure to direct sun so colour and shape last for seasons.
- Do happyfender covers fit common boat fenders?
- Yes. happyfender is designed to fit the most common fender models on leisure boats between 6 and 10 metres, including cylindrical fenders from the larger manufacturers. Stretch and fit mean two sizes cover most of the market.
- What is the difference between Yulex® and neoprene?
- Yulex® is a plant-based natural rubber while neoprene is an oil-based synthetic rubber. Yulex® has a lower CO₂ footprint, sheds less microplastic as it wears and has higher elasticity — properties that give a better fit and a more sustainable product without compromising durability at sea.
- When will my pre-order ship?
- The first batch ships around 15 August. You get a confirmation when your order is placed and information when it ships.
- When do I pay?
- Payment is made at the time of order. You can pay securely with the available payment options such as Klarna and Apple Pay.
- What is the launch offer?
- The launch offer applies during the launch period and lets you pre-order the first batch at a lower introductory price.
- What if the size doesn't fit?
- Use the Fender Compass before ordering. If the size still doesn't fit, our normal return and refund terms apply.
